Hop, Hop, Hooray! Music, Beer and Brats!
All for a good cause.
Stevenson,
WA - September 10, 2004 - Celebrate Fall in
the Gorge at Hoptoberfest! Fall means the last chance
to party outside
before the chill of winter drives most of us indoors.
Saturday, September 18th Stevenson, WA welcomes the
fourth annual
Hoptoberfest at Walking Man Brewery. This will be a
day-long event featuring
sunshine (we hope!), great beer, food, music and games.
From noon till 10pm, Walking Man will serve fresh microbrews
all made
in-house, and food from vendors including salmon from
The Skamania Lodge. Free, live music goes all day and
the bands
are superb
this year. String Helix, four young men from central
Oregon who are perking up ears with their bluegrass
flavored world
music
will play from 12:30-3:30pm. They say their music is
influenced by bluegrass, jazz, classical, swing, metal,
and pop. All
Night Station, an alternative Country rock-a-billy
band from Hood River
will play from 5-7pm. And a returning favorite from
last year, the ever popular funk-jam band Funk Shui
will play
from 7-10
pm, so bring your dance moves! "Families are welcome, we'll
also have homemade root beer and ginger ale," said
owner and brewer, Bob Craig. And there will be plenty
of games and
prizes. Last year's keg toss was a huge hit, as was
the somewhat messy egg toss! Games will be played from
3:30-4:30pm,
with great
prizes like free root beer for a year for the winners
of the egg toss. As if that's not enough, check out
the HotRods
and
Harleys across the street at Teo Park, and that's where
Curtis Salgado will be from 3:30-4:45pm. Walking Man
will have a circus
tent set up in case of rain and a good time is sure
to be had by all! Part of the day's proceeds will be
donated
to The United
Way of Klickitat and Skamania Counties, who also host
a silent auction with great items all day long. So
come out
and have a
great time supporting your community! Walking Man is
located at 240 SW 1st Street in Stevenson, WA, home
of The Skamania
Lodge. There's no better way to celebrate Hoptober
in the Gorge! For
more information, call Walking Man at 509-427-5520.
